Plastic tweezers — commonly called chipiya — are an essential hand tool for resin artists who need precise control without scratching molds or dragging cured surfaces. Unlike metal tweezers, the plastic tips are gentle on silicone molds and won't react with uncured epoxy or UV resin, making them ideal for placing dried flowers, glitter, foils, charms, and other small inclusions exactly where you want them.
Whether you're filling a bezel, arranging botanicals in a pendant mold, or picking up tiny rhinestones for a tray pour, these tweezers give you a steady, non-slip grip. Light in weight and easy to clean with isopropyl alcohol, they're a practical everyday tool for hobbyists and small resin businesses alike.
- Non-reactive plastic tips — safe to use with uncured UV resin, epoxy resin, and gel without contaminating your pour
- Gentle on silicone molds — won't scratch, dent, or tear delicate mold cavities the way metal tools can
- Precision placement — fine tip allows you to position dried flowers, foils, glitter, beads, and charms with accuracy
- Lightweight and comfortable — easy to hold during detailed work sessions without hand fatigue
- Easy to clean — wipe with isopropyl alcohol or acetone-free cleaner to remove resin residue quickly
- Versatile craft tool — useful for nail art, jewellery making, paper crafts, and electronics hobby work too
- Budget-friendly essential — an affordable must-have addition to any resin art starter or professional kit
How to Use
Use the tweezers to pick up and place small inclusions — flowers, sequins, foil flakes, or charms — into your resin layer before it cures. For UV resin, position your elements after pouring a thin base layer, cure briefly, then add a top coat. For epoxy, place inclusions during the working window when the resin is still fluid. Clean tips immediately after use to prevent resin from hardening on the surface.
Safety Tips
Always wear nitrile gloves when working with uncured resin. Avoid using plastic tweezers near open flames or heat guns at very close range, as the tips may warp under direct high heat. Store in a dry place away from direct sunlight to maintain the shape and grip of the tips.
